2024 Maschio Gaspardo Grator 1200

Information

2024 Maschio Gaspardo Grator 1200

Seedbed cultivator

GRATOR is MASCHIO GASPARDO's lightweight seedbed cultivator. Available in working widths ranging from 9.8 to 39.4 ft, it is designed to work with tractors with horsepower in the 80 to 340 range.

Seedbed cultivators are designed for minimum tillage. They are used to break up and finish the soil, while removing weeds from the top 3.9 in.

The combined action of the tools and the high work speeds (5-7.45 mph) results in excellent clod breaking and high productivity with any soil type.

Strong yet light

GRATOR comes with two frame types: a mounted fixed frame up to 19.7 ft; or semi-mounted folding frame for 29.5 and 39.4 ft versions. The sprung tools are connected directly to the frame. The twin rear roller, which serves to break up the soil, is connected by means of mechanical jacks that are also used for depth control.

The implement folds up hydraulically to a transport width of 8.2 and 9.8 ft for mounted and semi-mounted frame versions respectively.

Fine tilth

The front levelling blade levels the ground, while the spring tines in the central section break up the top 3.9 in of soil to a fine tilth. GRATOR is fitted with two types of tine. The gamma tines, which have a straight profile and narrow tip, are less aggressive on soil, loosening the surface crust without excessive mixing to retain any moisture in the soil. The delta tines, which have a curved profile and wide tip, are suitable for working on different types of soil, are more aggressive and also prove effective in pulling out any weeds.

Bringing up the rear, the twin cage roller levels the soil, preparing it for seeding.

Features may include:

SPRING TINES

There are two spring tine options:

  • “Gamma” tine: it is shaped to work the soil to a fine tilth without overturning the tilled layer. This trait means it retains the moisture in the seedbed and enables optimal germination even in water-poor conditions.
  • “Delta” tine: this type of solution involves minimal soil overturning, which is useful for controlling weeds that have emerged following primary tillage, or for incorporating crop residue into the tilled layer.
LEVELLING BAR

A front levelling bar prepares and levels soil ready for the spring tines to do their job next: the height of this element can be changed quickly with a pin system.

ROLLERS

The two rear cage rollers finish off the seedbed's preparation and level it. These rollers also serve to adjust the tines' working depth by means of a simple pin and tie rod system.

REAR TRAILER

The heavier (29.5 ft and 39.4 ft) versions come with a rear trailer, turning the machine into a trailed implement. During tillage, the wheels can be lifted up by a hydraulic circuit so as not to compact the newly prepared seedbed.
