Designed for in furrow and on land ploughing, UNICO XL has multiple working position correction and safety systems to handle the combined tasks of soil aeration, crop residue burial and incorporation. Doing away with welded joints between the frame and plough bodies in favour of bolting ensures strength, reliability and stability even under considerable stress. Available in an up to 6-bodies configuration (5+1), it is suitable for tractors with horsepower up to 400 HP (HD Heavy Duty version).
Modular designThe modular design means a standard frame built to accommodate three, four or five plough bodies, with the option of attaching an additional body using a bolted-on connection plate (standard issue on extendible versions), meaning coupling can be done in a matter of seconds. The headstock also allows for different types of configuration: switching quickly from the fixed headstock configuration to an oscillating one or to different category hitches (III) in a matter of seconds and, lastly, can change the height of the connection to the lift to accommodate tractors with different wheels sizes.
Smooth Set FrameUNICO XL features the "SMOOTH SET" parallelogram system, designed to optimise true line and first body working width adjustment setup times and improve the accuracy of work in the field. This system means that, on the one hand, there is less stress on the frame and headstock and, on the other, the true line and first body width adjustments are not affected by changes to the working width.
Easy adjustmentsWorking width can be mechanically adjusted by means of the STEP-BY-STEP type, PASSO system, which has 5 bolt position options for locking in the most suitable setup in just a few steps. Alternatively, the VARIO version features a non-stop adjustment system. Working width is changed with a hydraulic cylinder, which adjusts the width uniformly across the various plough bodies.
In Furrow/On Land versionThis version offers a two-in-one plough. With its larger parallelogram linkage arms and hydraulic mechanism, the switch from in furrow to on land ploughing (and vice versa) is possible. The latter comes with considerable advantages, such as elimination of the plough sole resulting from wheelslip in the seed furrow, reduced wear on the inside of tyres, and greater operator comfort.
Features may include:
INTERCHANGEABLE HEADSTOCKThe upper hitch point and rotation pin are part of a central housing that is an integral part of the plough, while the lift links feature bolt-on removable flanged fixings. This exclusive feature means to change configuration quickly, switching from a fixed headstock to an oscillating one, while it is possible to switch to different category linkages in a matter of seconds.
MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT (PASSO)The working width mechanical adjustment system is simple and robust. There are 5 bolt adjustment options for locking in the most suitable setup in just a few steps.
SHEAR BOLT MECHANICAL SAFETY SYSTEMAll plough bodies have a shear bolt. Should the plough body encounter an obstacle in the ground, on reaching the breaking point, the bolt shears, lifting the body and preventing damage to the machine. Replacing the bolt is very simple and fast.
