Robustness and productivity are the main virtues of DRACULA HYDRO, the top-of-the-line trailed cultivator among MASCHIO GASPARDO's offerings for soil tillage. DRACULA HYDRO combines efficiency, timeliness, and quality of work in a single piece of equipment: thanks to the combination of discs and tines, this combined cultivator handles crop residue management, soil aeration, leveling, and seedbed preparation all in one pass. Now available in two models:
DRACULA HYDRO has two front disc gangs that rip into the ground and incorporate residue down to 5.9 inches in depth, speeding up the decomposition process. The three centrally located tine gangs penetrate the soil down to as deep as 11.8 in, allowing for a constant flow of soil, even with large amounts of residue. Lastly, the combined action of a disc gang with 20 in discs cushioned with the SILENT BLOCK shock-absorbing system closes the furrows left by the tines, while the RING PACKER roller consolidates the soil. The combined action of these elements delivers unparalleled work quality in terms of crop residue management, soil aeration, levelling and seedbed preparation.
HEAVY-DUTY constructionDRACULA HYDRO features a frame with a central beam on which the two side wings carrying the various work sections are hinged. Its significant working widths do not compromise the implement's manoeuvrability thanks to the hydraulically operated side wings, which fold up to a transport width of just 3 metres. Featuring discs (24 inches in diameter) mounted on independent «C-shaped» high-travel springs, DRACULA offers an amazing cutting and burial capacity, with the power to rip into even the toughest soils and handle large amounts of residue. To ensure plenty of operating time between maintenance, the two disc gangs are fitted with a special high-performance «CULTI-HUB» unit. The double row oil-immersed bearing is effectively protected by a series of seals, which protects the structure against the ingress of water, mud and dust. Oil bath lubrication ensures long service life and does not require regular greasing. The tines with vanadium steel tips measure 3.1 in, while the wings measure 1.2 in. The rear RING PACKER roller is 23.6 inches in diameter and has a roller scraper made of high-strength material.
HYDRO: multi-tasking hydraulicsThe impressive size of this implement calls for full hydraulic control, from controlling the drawbar to disc and tine working depth through to adjustment of the disc levelling bar. The fact that the tools are independent from each other means work can be fine-tuned to suit changing tillage requirements and agronomic conditions.
The new HYDRO version features hydraulic cylinders in place of the traditional twin-spring shock absorbers. This solution results in greater work efficiency on tough ground as the tines work stably with a force on the tip of up to 1984 lbs, compared to the 1543 lbs offered by the twin-spring version. This high pressure - a unique quality in the combi cultivator category - ensures consistent work in any condition, eliminating the risk of tilling areas at shallower than nominal depths. Working depth is hydraulically adjustable and can range from 3.1 to 11.8 in.
This important technical feature proves invaluable when working on stony or very tough ground.
DRAWBARThe threaded drawbar means the height of the tow eye can be adjusted to suit the tractor's hitch (from 15.7 to 35.4 in), thus setting the work level correctly.
